Craving that extra adventure? Between Tignes and Val d’Isere, there is an incredible amount of terrain to explore for every level.
We can show you the spots you’d never usually see, and get off the beaten track away from the crowds. That feeling of being out there and away from it all is something quite special!
In an off-piste lesson, we’ll teach you techniques specific to riding un-pisted terrain and handling different terrain and snow conditions. Because of the nature of the terrain being uncontrolled (which is half the fun!), it’s also a really effective way to push your snowboarding ability.
You’ll learn to adapt your riding style and make adjustments to maintain control and stability and maximise your enjoyment.
In an off-piste lesson, we’ll teach you techniques specific to riding un-pisted terrain and handling variable snow conditions.
Because of the nature of the terrain being uncontrolled and un-pisted, the snow can be a lot more variable… which is half the fun! And it’s also a really effective way to push your snowboarding ability.

When venturing away from the pistes, it’s not just about the snowboarding. Things such as avalanche awareness and proper use of safety equipment will be covered.
Safety is our top priority, and inherently there is more decision making involved when going into uncontrolled terrain. We will involve you in the process, and build your knowledge and skills to make informed choices.
Off-piste snowboarding kit is a bit different. Along with the normal safety equipment (helmet, goggles, gloves, and appropriate, waterproof mountain wear) You also must have the 3 basic items of avalanche safety gear – A transceiver, a probe, and a shovel.
Snowboard-wise, you may well have your own. If not, it can be good to go for a more freeride-focused snowboard. We will be happy to advise if you need any help.
All of this gear is available for rent at reasonable prices from a number of local rental shops.
If you have any questions about appropriate equipment for your session please visit our equipment page or contact us.
